Brief introduction
Prof. Li received her Ph. D in Management Science from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 2002, and got her Bachelor and M.A. in Economics in University of Northwest China respectively in 1988 and 1991. Since July 1991, Li has worked in the Institute for Population and Development Studies in School of Public Policy and Administration and School of Management at Xi’an Jiaotong University, and also has been a senior visiting scholar in Department of Biology at Stanford University from November 2012 to May 2013. Li is now the executive deputy director of Center for Population and Social Policy Studies of Xi’an Jiaotong University and a member of Council of China Population Association as well.
Li was awarded “Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University” by Ministry of Education of China, and was selected in “Sanqin Talents Program” of Shaanxi Province and Young Talents Program of Humanities and Social Sciences in University of Shaanxi Province. Till now, Li has worked on over 30 research programs as principal investigators. Among those, 3 were funded by Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), one by National Social Science Foundation of China, and others supported by National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Ministry of Education, National Statistics Bureau of China, and Chinese Academy of Sciences, etc. She has been the co-principal investigator of two international joint projects. Li has published more than 60 academic journal papers, and authored or co-authored 8 books in Chinese. In addition, Li has won a lot of academic and research awards, such as Science and Technology Awards in Shaanxi 2012, etc.
Research interests: Rural livelihood and environmental protection; Rural ecological conservation and development; Tourism economics.
