Brief introduction
  Jin Xiaoyi: Professor, Ph.D student supervisor
  She received her Ph.D. from Manage School at Xi’an Jiaotong University in 2003, major in management science and engineering. In 2003-2006, she was a postdoctoral researcher of Economic and Finance School at Xi’an Jiaotong University, and then continued her postdoctoral research at Morrison Institute for Population and Resources in Stanford University. She went to Santa Fe Institute in 2007 and University of Washington in 2014 as a visiting scholar. She is director of Population Society of China, director of Chinese Marriage and Family Studies of Sociology Society of China, and director of Institute for Gender and Development Studies at Xi’an Jiaotong University.
  She was awarded by “Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University”, Sanqin Excellent Talent of Shaanxi province, and Excellent Youth of Humanities and Social Sciences supported by the Provincial Education Committee of Shaanxi. Since 2004, she is the grantee and principal investigator of one key project and two ordinary projects supported by National Social Science Funds of China and three international joint projects. She was awarded “The Scientific Research Foundation for Returned Overseas Chinese Scholars” supported by the State Education Committee of China, and Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation. She has been the main participant of 2 key projects supported by National Social Science Funds of China and 4 projects supported by National Social Science Funds and National Natural Science Funds of China. She has published 7 books and 81 papers (including 14 SSCI/SCI papers), and obtained 8 research awards at provincial or ministerial level in China.
Research interests: rural migrants and urbanization in China, marriage and family, intergenerational relations and old-age support
