Women and Gender Researching & Training Base of Shaanxi Province was founded by All-China Women’s Federation and Chinese Women’s Research Society in 2004 and the director is Professor YANG Xueyan. In September 2008, Research Center for Gender and Development Studies of Xi’an Jiaotong University and other 6 units were drafted into Women and Gender researching and training base of Shaanxi Province. Established based on “Institute for Population and Development Studies” along with “Research center for Gender and Development Studies” of Xi’an Jiaotong University, the base is mainly constituted of teachers from Public Administration and other related disciplines. Disciplines of the base include Public Administration, Management Science and Engineering. Generally possessing doctorate degree, the core members own qualifications of supervising postgraduate and Ph.D. students independently. Relying on the “985” national social science innovation base, this base has the strength to strive for major scientific projects. Research center for Gender and Development Studies which the base is based on has already established one strong academic team, including 1 Changjiang Professor of Ministry of Education of China; 4 professors in Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University of Ministry of Education of China; 4 professors in Program of Young Talents of Humanities and Social Sciences in Universities of Shaanxi province; 3 professors in Top Young Talents Program of Xi’an Jiaotong University.
