Dr. Jianghua Liu

I got a PhD degree in human evolutionary biology from the University of Sheffield in 2011. After that, I did two years of post-doc at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research, before joining Xi’an Jiaotong University in 2014.

I am currently doing research in two areas of evolutionary demography: 1) causes and consequences of nuptiality transition to the European marriage pattern in Asia; 2) evolutionary foundations of low fertility in contemporary human societies and relevance to fertility policies.
