Socio-Economic Wellbeing in a Peripheral Region.
讲座时间:2017年12月18日星期一 下午4:00-6:00
讲座地点:公管学院实验中心三楼学术厅
讲座内容简介:The lecture starts with a review of theoretical
foundations of the link between transportation and socio-economic wellbeing,
and discusses the evidence pointing towards positive and negative effects. Then
it discusses the case of a recent study of highway investment of a peripheral
region of Mexico over the period of 2000-2010. The detail of the geospatial and
spatial econometric analysis are presented to fully disentangle the nature of
the relationship.
讲座题目2:The “Secrets” of Publishing in an International
Journal.
讲座时间:2017年12月21日星期四 下午4:00-6:00
讲座地点:公管学院实验中心三楼学术厅
讲座内容简介:The lecture is designed for graduate students and
faculty members who seek to publish their work in an international peer
reviewed and indexed journal. Based on my 10+ years of experience as a journal
editor, as welI as my experiences as an author and manuscript reviewer, I
discuss the “business” of publishing academic research, which will shed light
on the process that sometimes seems mysterious: from the choice of topics,
choice of co-authors, choice of journals and other outlets, the principles of
indexing, types of journals (open access, vs others, national vs international,
etc), the considerations that editors rely upon to accept to review manuscript,
and finally an overview of tips and good practices to write effective, for
success.
