讲座人：Guy Martin Robinson
讲座人简介：Guy Robinson is a human geographer with over 40 years experience of teaching and researching in universities in Australia, the UK, Canada and New Zealand. He has published eight books and over 200 papers in journals/book chapters and participated in numerous research projects. He holds degrees from the Universities of London and Oxford and has held positions at the Universities of Oxford, Edinburgh, Kingston London and South Australia as well as being an official visitor at 14 different institutions. He joined the University of Adelaide as an Adjunct in June 2015. He has edited the international journal, Land Use Policy(https://www.journals.elsevier.com/land-use-policy),for nine years.
讲座题目1：Where the city meets the country: dynamic change in the peri-urban fringe.
讲座内容介绍：This examines the challenges facing the peri-urban areas of the world's major cities. It looks at the measures adopted to preserve farmland in the fringe, the creation of 'edgelands', and relaxations of planning controls to meet growing demands for affordable housing. New relationships between urban residents and the city's countryside are also considered.
讲座题目2：Globalised agriculture: meeting the challenge of food security.
讲座内容介绍：In the context of globalisation agriculture worldwide is facing an unprecedented challenge to provide sufficient food for the world's growing population. This presentation examines some facets of globalisation, especially the growing contrast between industrialised agri-food production and alternative food networks typified by short supply chains, small-scale operations and organic production.
